All my amps use tubes, and all are relatively low output power. I don't have room for large bass horns and don't care for biamping (subs). This limits the number of affordable speakers that will work well in my system. I recently came across the Decware speakers, and it appears the Monoliths might have something to offer. However, I'm concerned about the lack of reviews online, as well as lack of objective specifications regarding frequency response and distortion. Has anyone here purchased or heard the Monoliths? Are the sonic pros and cons somewhat subtle, or do they tend to favor certain musical tastes and listening environments? Any opinions or overall impressions about these would be appreciated.

I love Steve's amplifiers, own the Xen Torii MKIII, and have heard some of his speakers when I visited his business.
I would recommend calling Steve tomorrow, you undoubtedly know that they are on sale for two more days. Steve is honest as the day is long and will answer all your questions.

Intelligent guess. The web site claims 26 Hz without specs on how far down it is. I suspect the bass is more than adequate unless you're an organ enthusiast. But 26 Hz has to be way down. The horn loading of the bass driver is way too small to support 26 Hz. John Crabbe, the old editor of Hi Fi News, built 25 Hz bass horns into his home and the horns were over 10 feet long and the mouth was over 20 square feet. Bass horns are huge.
What is more important is the 94 dB efficiency rating. This looks possible but it would be nice to be confirmed by test, especially if you play music with wide dynamic range such as classical piano and large orchestral works.
