We have a second home on the east cost of Florida then a 1/2 mile from the ocean on the Banana River. So it is pretty humid there. I have a set of SMG Maggies powered by a tube amp, that seem very limited in frequency response for the first hour of so of use. Maybe one or two albums before they sound correct. The Humidly level is controlled ranges from 40 to 65% and the temperature ranges from 60 in the winter to 82 in the summer when we are away. Which can be for months. Any one had a similar experience or can provide some insight as to what is going on?

I left them home when I went to college, I had very similar experiences. They seemed to need to stretch out a bit after resting for long periods. So did my Audio Technica ATH 7 headphones.
I don't think it's your speakers. First it's normal for tube amps to take time to warm up in order to begin sounding like they should. Also, if the speaker had an issue then it wouldn't sound "right" after the hour. When I had tubes I used to turn my system on a while before I planned to listen in order to allow it time to warm up and shorten the time it took the system to open up.
Try posting over at the Planar Forum for more ideas. The SMGs are pretty old and it is likely that you have corrosion of wires from the humidity and salt resulting in microbreaks. Probably the tweeter driver is as the wires are thinner but the mid-bass can do the same thing. Good news is that the wires can be repaired as a DIY. Contact Magnepan and they will sell you a repair kit.
