This is a tarted up Boxer with Nordhost internal wiring and mungdorf oil capacitors.
On the one hand I think 'it's a Boxer for people with two much money'.
On the other hand I think - damn, this could be amazing.
Anyone?

This post reminded me of one of my favorite Homer Simpson lines.
With specs almost identical to the $2700 Nola.

The design and construction of the basic version seems quite good. Mungdorf caps and Nordost wire might improve sound just a smidgeon, probably not worth the extra cost to me.
It should be compared to KEF 50.

No thansk.
even with the little known MungDorf caps...
i loev it.
Everyone thinks I'm strange except my friends deep inside the earth
Me two. :0)
People pay three grand for a nice 2-way stand mount all the time.
Nordost silver wire and mungdorf caps aren't cheap.

Some sort of Kinks Lola joke.........do they say "dear boy won't you come home with me" when you demo them?

I think the partners of Alon split up but the speaker desinger who's name slips my mind at the moment started a new company with the name spelled backwards. If you liked Alon you should like Nola. Essentially the same speaker design philosophy etc...

Marchisotto is the designer.
The Alon series were better sounding in My opinion.
I've not heard the Nolas but am a fan of the Alons. I used to have the Alon 1. Great speaker with a lot of wonderful sound staging. A bit fussy about speaker placement if memory serves though.

I would like to demo the NOLA speakers as well.
