I have been quite happy with the Kefs driven by a pair of Red Dragon Leviathons, but was curious as to what others have found to work well.I do use a pair of subs fitted with dual 10" drivers at 75HZ for low-frequency support.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to contribute their $.02.

I use a McIntosh MA-6450 with my LS50's, which is rated at 100wpc/4ohms. The soundstage is very wide and deep, and sounds fantastic to these old ears.

I've tried both a Proceed Amp 2 and Parasound A23 in a simple setup of Oppo BDP-95 to amp to LS50s. I think i prefer the sound with the Amp 2, a bit more presence and a bit less warmth. I could be happy with either, but the audio trigger of the A23 is a nice feature in this setup, because the BPP-95 has no 12 volt trigger output.

Line Magnetic 219IA with the KEFs with good results.
It clocks in at 120lbs though and it's real big so it may not be your cup of tea.
Yep, 12 watts EL-84 sounds good in my medium sized room. Citation II is a good match with a more filled out sound.
I've used a Rogue Cronus 120, which was excellent, and am currently driving mine with a McIntosh MC275 VI, which is sublime. I've used both SS and tubes with the LS50 and prefer a powerful tube amp.
best,

A big Thank you for all the suggestions.I should clarify that integrateds are probably not an option in my configuration.I would need "pre outs" to run out to the crossover and prefer balanced operation. The Ayre 5xemp prefers to be run that way.

Line Magnetic LM 211IA Integrated Tube Amp.

Right now "slumming it" with a pair of Crown XLS1500s driving my LS-50s, supplemented by subs. Not bridged, so only around 500 WPC. :) Modded the amps with aftermarket binding posts, and driven (balanced) by a high gain SS preamp. Added an iTube in front of the pre, which helped with the dryness of the cheapo pro amps.Amazed at the detail I get out of the LS50 / Class D combo, although the Crowns are not as refined and 3D as a higher end amp would be. Still enjoyable though.
If you stick with class D, try some sort of tube stage in front. My plan was to eventually upgrade to a tube amp from Rogue, and move the Crowns to the HT system. But really liking what class D does for this speaker. So maybe one of their hybrids would work well.

'The combination was simply astonishing. I found it rather surprising the size of the soundstage the ST-100/KEF combo created. Sitting near field, at 8 feet away from the speakers, I was engulfed in sound, with instruments extending so far from the plane of the speakers, it was a trip.'

FYI - Mine was delivered today. Superlatives fail. If you're thinking of getting one, just do it.

A friend of mine who carries KEF had a customer bring in a Cary sly-80 integrated to audition with a set of LS50's. My friend liked the combo so much he is now a Cary dealer. Seems the two brands have good synergy, a particular presentation, but quite appealing to the listeners who lean that way. He is currently has the LS50's set up with a Cary power amp driven direct by a Cary DAC. I can't remember the amp's model, it's like 80 to 100 watts ultralinear switchable to 30 watts triode.
Looking at the impedance and efficiency I'd recommend a good solid state amp of at least 100 watts(the Parasounds mentioned should be good at sane prices). However if you want a bit more mid-bass with a sound that's more forward in the region where an LS3/5a is a bit recessive(the so called BBC dip area, then a good tube amp, such as a Quicksilver, is called for but as powerful as you can afford due to the lowish efficiency.
I own both the Modwright KWA 100SE and Odyssey Stratos Plus. Both sound good with my LS50's , the Modwright is my go to choice for the KEF's.
JOB225. The high speed of both units is very complimentary.

Chicago show, perhaps?
A qwik search brings up some confirmation on that, see below.
If it is KEF officially and not just a dealer, I'd say that was a rather strong endorsement.
Starting from scratch, I'd try a tube integrated amp from Manley, VTL, Audio Research, or Conrad Johnson.

I suggest Quicksilver 88 monos. Plenty of power, last forever with outstanding sound.
I've read about folks using them with the integrated version of this ...I currently have Bottlehead Paramount 300B amps and Triangle Titus speakers, want to try some Ref. 3A MM DeCapos with the 300B amps ... then maybe the LS-50s and a higher (than 8) wattage amp ... thinking the Atlas may be just the ticket, but then I'd also (since I have the Parasound P 7 preamp) want to try the Parasound A-21 (would always wonder if it sounded better than the A-23!).
Augggghhhhh! too many choices, not enough $$$ or time ... :D
