I just purchased a pair of jbl le5-2 mids . Correct cast backs , cones look good but dust caps are not inverted . Serial numbers are low like 10740 and 10788 . Guy said they made them like this at first then inverted the caps . Said they used them on the 88's . Well the 88 used the left 5-10 and had the flat backs . I think these were reconed, maybe they put the dust caps on wrong . As long as they sound good I don't care. I have 4 other pairs of le5-2's . I would like someone else's opinion . Thanks jay
Follow Ups:
The LE 5-9 used in the L212 (1977) had inverted dust covers.
Think of those inverted covers as an early JBL Performance Series/Revel inverted Ti dome mid-range drivers.
