How's that work out?
I put some Formby's on some Stirling LS3/5a's and they really soaked it up.
Not sure about the finish on these Spendors though....

Just got this - very helpful:
Thanks for your e-mail and for your interest in Spendor loudspeakers
All Spendor 'speakers have coats of lacquer over the wooden veneer finishes on their cabinets - our advice is to clean using a feather duster as required: the use of polishes or other compounds may have a detrimental effect on the lacquer coat in the long term
In using a polish, you are effectively introducing a cutting compound (as an auto refinisher would do) which will over time abrade the lacquer coat - by what amount and over how long depends on how aggressively the compound is applied
If you must use some form of polish, a proprietary domestic furniture spray would be suitable - ideally non-scented and definitely not lemon or orange varieties, as these can contain citric acid and other substances harmful to your loudspeakers' finish.

I've seen a similar response from Harbeth. On their forum, there was a long post about polishes oils etc and the recommendation was not to use them. One of the reasons was that these veneers need to breathe a bit and polishes and oils clog up the pores in the veneers.
Not specifically on Spendors, but on my cherry-veneered speakers I use RockitOil Wood. Primarily for its claimed UV screening properties.
formbys is a wiping varnish. Hard stuff!
What finish do you have on your speakers? Flat, matte, shinny?
I have been using Formby products on furniture since the 70's and still have great looking wood pieces in my home. The product you refer to is his Tung oil hand-rubbed varnish, which is used for new and refinishing projects. Their lemon oil products are good for cleaning and polishing and work quite nicely over time as there is no build-up.
Everything is going to the dogs
I occasionally Pledged my 2/3's. No issues.
...when I had a pair of S3/5 with rosewood veneer.
works great on my Tannoys and PMCs.
