For years, I have owned two pairs of the Audioengine A5 speakers. One pair has been in the bedroom being used for music streaming and as external TV speakers. The other pair has been in my study, being used for music streaming from my computer.I think they’re great speakers, but that’s not reason for this post. As active speakers, there’s always a chance that a problem can develop with the amplifier. Such was the case with each pair – well after they were out of warranty. I called Audioengine support and was told that for $80 they would repair/replace the speakers. I paid for shipping one way; Audioengine paid for the return shipping. Oh yes, since the A5 speakers have been discontinued, Audioengine sent me the upgraded A5+ speakers. What more can anyone ask for?

I've been strongly considering Audioengine A2+ for desktop use, and it's great to learn of the excellent customer service they provided you. Thanks for posting.
Great to hear. I was impressed with them I visited their display at the stereophile show. That's a sign of a company that's here to stay. Wish them a loyal and growing customer base.
Time and again I chat with audio industry people (mfrs, importers, and retailers) and most have not even a clue as to the CONCEPT of "what is our cost of 'acquiring a customer'?" Let alone a number ready at their fingertips, whether that be $2 or $200.
You were a customer. Not an active one. But a customer. Oh! I get it! NOW you are a Brand Ambassador and an Evangelist!
A little thought experiment: Consider the impact of what you publicized, versus the impact of a full-page ad in an enthusiast magazine.
And y'know what? I bet the cost of doing what they did for you will in the last analysis be less than what would be the cost of acquiring those future customers by other means.
An insider years ago told me what it had cost "Fi" magazine to acquire its subscribers, and my hair turned gray as a result.

PS: I would never presume to know what the balance was between "well-intentioned heart" and "shrewd good sense." 50/50, 80/20, or 20/80, it is none of my business, and all of them work for me.
