I recently bought a pair of EV 12" Wolverine tri-axials and I'm installing them today in some vintage cabinets...blah blah blah......anyway, while prepping for mounting, I noticed a few pinholes near the outside edge of the cone. Should I try to treat those in any way to avoid them from becoming larger down the road? Near them is a couple of spots, the same size that look thin when I shine a flashlight from the back of the driver.

Follow Ups:
Roach damage
For the thinned areas a qtip dipped in MimWax wood hardener stiffens weakened area significantly. The fluid spreads quickly like water so use sparingly.
You can dab holes and patch appropriately
I don't think it's roach damage. I didn't find any roaches plus I don't think the fella smoked.

Another way that can happen is from cats with the grill covers off. Something I do to dust caps that are pushed it is to insert a pit bent over to 90 degrees about halfway up, insert through the dust cap and use the flat surface of the pin to pull the dents out.
I suspect insect larvae have had a bit of dinner. Make sure there are none living in/on that speaker. (By the way...I like that EV speaker).
This should be no problem,,,But if still worried,,A little dollop of rubber cement on the pinholes will cover it,,, "I said a little"
