The subject line says it all.
These two models reputedly share much: size, wall-placement, toe-in, Helmholtz Resonator design, big bass, low price (well, in "high end" terms). I'd appreciate hearing the opinions of anyone who's had the opportunity to hear both the Guru Jynior and the Clue.
Not too likely, I know; both are limited distribution cult items. A minority of a minority ...

I have not heard the Clues, but have listened to the Guru Juniors on the end of a Naim UnitiQute. I think the Gurus are very good, and the bass/dynamics excellent for such a small cabinet. While of course one does not get the ultimate "feel" that you would get from a larger bass driver moving quantities of air, the overall sonics are still very good.
Also, I did not know what to really expect on the top end, and was extremely suprised. This speaker is very good top to bottom, especially considering price, and size of the enclosure, does some things that even some floor standers only hint at. But it still needs a fairly medium/small room and proper wall placement to sound at its best.
While much is made of the bass of these two speakers, with the Guru, I think one cannot overlook many good qualities these bring to the table. I think dynamics and drive in a speaker like this just makes it a very fun speaker to listen to. One of those types of speaker that brings musical enjoyment, not necessarily to use as a tool for ultimate accuracy and detail. I mean that as no slight to the Guru either.
I also have to say that this speaker in the walnut veneer is finished very well and looks really good in that retro sort of way. I wouldn't mind owning a pair myself! And yes, Whetstone Audio in Austin is a dealer for them here in the states. Tim
Echo Hifi in portland has a used pair of the Clue that I noticed. I have some Ply speaker cables from Sjofn that I really like and have wanted to hear these speakers.
I have a pair of (the clue) speakers, using them with Supra Ply 3.4 speaker cables and they sound great in my small 12' x 14'.
Thanks!
Does Echo Audio dicker?
I think it depends. Much of the used gear is on commission so it depends on if the original owner wants to deal. I have the PLy 3.4 speaker cable as well and it's very nice. I think the guy is Kurt and is very nice. I've sold some things through their store and always find their offerings interesting. He does a great job keeping new arrivals posted each day.
I had heard "the Clue" at a show - they sounded great, but it was uncomfortably loud, so I didn't really form a coherent opinion.

Hey! I have a blog now: http://mancave-stereo.blogspot.com or "like" us at https://www.facebook.com/mancave.stereo
Yes I heard the Clue at RMAF--for a little devil it packed a punch!
A possibility--but the same size Dynacos are a tad smoother and fuller especially in the bass

What Dynacos?? I didn't know Dynaco still made speakers!
My humble apologies

Are the two similarly priced?
IIRC Guru Junior is $1,300-ish; Clue is $1,000ish
I heard the clue in my home and really liked them. Didn't care for their looks, but that's a personal thing I guess. If I had a grand to spend on speakers I'd probably get a pair.
They had a colossal soundstage, as big as the wall they were on. Very nice midrange, great dynamics and excellent bass.
Is the guru Jr. even available in this country?

I think Whetstone Audio in Austin, TX does. Two thousand miles from my house! :(
