Hi,
Thanks for pointing out my review. I will say that I was more enthusiastic about this speaker than I am about most -- and I like speakers a lot. To me, the R500 sets a new standard for what kind of performance one can expect for that price. It's special.

Nice review, Doug.I have the Q900's in my Home Theater setup and they perform wonderfully there. As well, they make nice music when I swap them into my two channel system. KEF is showing at the California Audio Show this weekend near SF, and I hope they have a better room than they did at T.H.E. Show in Newport Beach, where the KEF setups (R's and Blade) sounded muffled and bloated to me. I run mine on a Parasound P7 and A21, similar gear to what was used there, and I've got to believe the room conditions were fully to blame for what I heard in Newport Beach.
See ya. Dave

Much improved demo of the R and Blade KEF's at CAS today. The Blade's were on Chord electronics this go around. Not muddled or bloated as heard at T.H.E Show.
I'd say Doug's impressions of the R was as I heard today.
A monitor speaker that did a great job today was the Florence Audio on Win Amp tube amps (gawd I hope I remembered those names right); they provided some of the finest sound I heard there today. Trumped by the Focal Scala's in The Tape Project room though. Talk about an ease to the sound, with great dynamics and transparency. It appeared that John Curl had a favorable impression there too.
See ya. Dave

The price of R500 is amazing. Must be a better buy than the Gallo CLS3 and Golden Ear Triton. That is an achievenent.
Cheers
