I am looking to intergrate a sub into my two channel system, this is an SET amp with 106db speakers. Any advice welcomed.
Follow Ups:
I'm a little surprised that no one has recommended one of the small REL subs - designed for audio first, and HT second.
I'm surprised that no one has said the OP should get two subs, which he should.
I just took hold of an SVS SB12-NSD not all too long ago, and use the Anti-Mode 8033 unit. I must admit that this is the most musical combination I've ever heard in my system. I've owned quite a few subs in the past (was NEVER able to properly get them to gel in my space), and this 14" cube is simply outstanding. It is only for a 2-channel, music-only system as well.
If you read the recent Audioholics review, it pretty-much sums up how good it really is. It's not too shabby to look at, either.
I must admit, in my room, the Anti-Mode improves things just a tad, but I'll leave it there anyway, even if it isn't night/day without it. I do know factually that for certain rooms, it is a godsend.
Anyway, I'd recommend the SVS sub; it does/has everything you're looking for: small footprint, musical, digs deep and is well-controlled. Really fun to listen to.
Do yourself a huge favor and consider two subs wired in stereo.
Maybe buy one, and a Antimode if you're going line level input, or speaker level with their speaker to line level transformer.
If you're absolutly happy stop there, but leave the option open to a second sub that will sound much better than just one.
Have fun
I have used the Omega Deep Hemp with Lowther DX4 Medallion 2's with very good results. I'm currently using Shelby + Kroll Woffer Monitors very fast and musical, but the speakers have a much lower db rating. I would also recommend using an Anti Mode 8033c with either sub. The AM takes care of all room canceling nodes and the subs will really shine.
Good Luck

I use Carvers smallest Sunfire sub with Lowther Medallions. The sub is fast enough to keep pace with the very fast Lowthers

Alan,
Can you tell me more about this sub? Is this the Super Jr.?
Mine was purchased 14 years ago and was then called the Sunfire True Subwoofer MKII It had an 8" active driver on one side and an 8" passive on the other side. I still use it to this day with my second system which is the Lowther system. Sorry I can't be of more help then that

really good subs. I reviewed both the active and passive for Dagogo.com. I purchased the TBI Audio Systems Magellan VIP su Active Subwoofer System. Very fast and very easy to setup. Has volume, frequency, and a phase switch.

Jnr. Are you using the new tbi sub amp as well or the model with the built in amp. I have an older tbi passive and thinking about an amp upgrade
Also jo love for relmon this thread?
I would highly recommend the subwoofer amp.

really well with high resolution mains that I've found is the James EMB-1000. Works seamlessly with the highest rez speakers I've heard. ACI Force is good, too, but a distant second. Forget Carvers, Velodyne, etc. They muddy things up too much for music, IMO.
