I'd be grateful to hear how these perform. I did a search and came up with a few posts but not much. One of the audio mags had a nice review. My application would be to fill out the bottom end in a pair of GR-Research Paradox 3 floorstanders driven by a Don Allen tube pre and 807 SET amp (also by Don). Although the Paradox 3's have a 3 db down point of 38hz, I found when I switched from Nuforce mono's to the SET amp that the bass rolls off more quickly, and I'd like to recover some of that lost bass! If the REL T-1 or 2 isn't the ticket, what would you recommend in a moderately priced small sub? Thank you.
Follow Ups:
When looking into REL subs a couple months ago I saw that a number of the T-1 and T-2 subs were coming up for sale on eBay whose cabinets had become detached from the square metal frames. So I'd recommend adding some extra support or bracing if you end up buying one of these. You'll see that now REL has moved away from the square metal frame design.
I have the T-1 in a home theater setup which I use a lot for music as well. It might not be the most powerful sub or go the lowest, but it's very musical with flexible crossover options, and gives easily enough bass for movies in my medium size room. Excellent mid-price subwoofer IMHO.
Like pretty much everyone here who's commented, they're awesome subs; dare I say 'outstanding' for music. I once used the T2 with a pair of Harbeth P3-ESRs and was nearly always astounded at how well they blended (the line-level hookup really is key), and just how great everything sounded. To this day, I still regret selling that sub (and the Harbeths for that matter). Might have to get in on one of the Vanns deals, as I've noticed them plummeting since the newer T series have come out. I currently have Paradigm Signature S2 V2 speakers, and though they go quite low, quite convincingly for a standmount, I can't help but feel I need to really fill out the bottom-end.
Anyway, they're not just great for their small footprint; they're great, period, IMO.
I have a T-1 sub from Vanns for $699.00 and it fills in the bottom end of my Omega Max Hemp single driver speakers very nicely and it blends perfectly.
I do it all in the name of music!!!
I found a REL T-2 on sale ( Vann's)for $499 delivered. At that price, a no-brainer for me. Great versatile little sub that's easy to blend with your mains. I also like their speaker level hook up method ( wire and connection included in the package). No complaints here.....a well thought out powered sub, especially at the sale price.
I have had great success with a T-2 in my home office system with a SET amp driving Coincident Triumph Extreme monitor speakers. The speaker level set up seems to have no adverse effect on the amp performance and is easy to blend with the speakers.
concur. these RELs are very good musical subs and very good deals. used ones show up on ebay often if you care to explore that route.

Ditto. I bought the T2 from Vann's for the same price as Mick. The speaker level connection (thru REL's 'Speakon' connector) works really well, although these units don't have the fine level adjustments available on the high priced spread. I'm in a small space and haven't been able to play with sub placement as much as I want to, but simple time alignment with my MMG's has worked pretty well so far. No complaints for the price.
