A large US made pyramidal full range 3 or 4-way, which I 'think' used concave dome tweeter/s. Well reviewed at the time.1980s or 1990s. More than one woofer.
There was a small flat area on top which was matt finish, or foam.
Epicure?
TIA

The "3" doesn't have the little black tweeter hat on top as it, the tweeter, is mounted on the front baffle with the rest of the drivers.
The "3.0" has but a single woofer as does the "3".
Truncated pyramid inverted tweeter I think. Is that the one?
Only one woofer (10-inch), but a pretty good-sized mid-range (6-inch).
If its not Shahinian, the only other thing I can think of would be Nesterovic-well reviewed in the late 80's. I lusted after a pair for a long time.

This is the only speakers that I could think of that fits your description of pyramidal shape, 4-way, it has a concave midrange though, however, I think it has been pushed by a cat's snout and manufactured in the 90's. But, I thought you don't like JBLs.

Ohm-ish?
Waveform was the only speaker (along with its designer, John Ötvös) I ever saw get a standing ovation from our audio club.
In response to a (generally positive) review of the Waveforms; he signed it, "John Otvos, woodworker".
"Your liver suffers dearly now for youthful magic moments...so rock on completely with some brand new components"
The last time I seriously listened to Waveform products was HiFi '99 in Chicago. As ever, I thought the speakers were excellent. I was pretty peeved that he was more interested in demonstrating his wonderful speakers in multi-channel using organ music. Loved the Waveform series, never been big on organs, and have never been much into multi-channel...
Greatly sad that Waveform didn't survive...
They don't exactly match your description and they are earlier (late '70s/early '80s) but I can't think of anything closer. They were very exciting in their day but like many speakers of the period they probably sound fairly colored by today's standards. There was an optional ribbon tweeter that sat on the flat space at the top.

I simply googled pyramid shaped loudspeakers and clicked on images.
Skyptical?? Do you enjoy skypping or skipping? Mensurer?? Do you measure things or are you a masculine skipper or skypper? Chaucer was a MOTO!

MOTO?

Master Of The Obvious...I'm waiting for my questions to be answered yet:O)

Master of the Obvious - about Chaucer, is just silly. On balance I've decided to answer your queries anyway.
Skyptical mensurer?
I'm a trained analyst and measurer, but usually describe myself as a general systems analyst. My last career was a strategic change-agent and systems-architect in health informatics at an international level. I worked for the biggest private insurer in Australia.
My first responsible jobs in the army and beyond, were analytical. My formal qualifications came later on.
I'm very alert to the misuse or 'driving' of measurement to support particular points of view, especially in policy and politics. Ignorance of statistics and other techniques plays an important role in the decision making of managers, and of most commentators in politics. The history of the issue of teacher-pupil ratios is just one example. Using always unbiased estimators e.g. to set thresholds, is another.
In audio? Most (all) of the reported DBT-ABX tests. Not because I don't support testing, but because high values of beta (> 0.5) when alpha is forced low, mean the reported results are also being forced.
They do prove that it is difficult for listeners to identify changes when listening to an unfamiliar system in an unfamiliar room. But we knew that anyway ;-)! This is my other main problem with these tests.
The quite general lack of understanding of how we respond to acoustic music is another concern. The tendency of many 'philes to tail-chase over equipment, 'issues' and effects from incorrect impedance-matching* are also striking. * Especially with MC carts.
I am skeptical about 'the public skeptics' and about atheists like Dawkins. Post-modernism and its woolly misuse by 'intellectuals' makes me angry.

Chaucer excelled at descriptive prose, but not in original thought I'm afraid. A great storyteller indeed. An original thinker? Not really. Most of his writings were re-tellings of previous authors works. He was multi- talented however, like you:O) I agree with just about everything else you discussed. Our President is a prime example of the distortion of statistics and of reality in general. Then again, most people like a good story, despite any facts to the contrary. Ignorance and emotion is just so much easier a path to follow than fact based, unbiased reason.

Very few people are such accurate observers of humanity in action.
I feel confident this helped him in his daily work.
Customs work is very demanding, as I know.

It's refreshing to meet someone with a bit of insight on the human condition, as did Chaucer. My background is in sales, medical laboratory science and teaching (Biology) with a strong interest in Anthropology (minored in College), Physics and Cosmology. Best of luck to you and perhaps someday our paths will cross again!
