found a pr localy and i'm thinking it might be nice to try with my pass x250 amp and small room 10.5 x 15 feet. My concerns is they are 22 years old.
All drivers work.
Any thoughts on taking a chance. Can the tweeters be repaired if I ever blew one. Would these compare to other Under $1000 used monitors
Thanks

These speakers need lots of power and are built for high-powered amps so you are unlikely to blow a tweeter under normal use. The post about woofer surrounds is cautionary and should be heeded but if they look to be in good shape, go for it. The SL600s I owned many years ago still linger fondly in the memory. A wonderful speaker.
They may need work the celestion used a rather unusual surround on the bass driver which you can NOT replace with an original unless someone happens to have NOS but even then how old would those be I wonder ?
I'm guessing that if you examine the surrounds closely they are starting to crack if not cracked already . You can have new surrounds put on but they will be foam and not rubber so it will change the sound a bit
P.s want bang for your buckz?
