just had a pair of speakers given to me, grafyx sp by august audio . anyone have any info on these? they are a 2 way system an ads 1 inch tweeter positioned over what looks like an 8 inch advent woofer with xtra large voice coil and mag. assy. seem to be of at least decent qaulity. interesting.
Follow Ups:
The Grafyx SP (standard of performance) series was built by August Systems in Champaign IL.August Systems also built large PA sound systems for groups like REO Speedwagon.
The woofers were built by Gefco, the tweeter was a Norelco (Philips) AD01624, a 1" polycarbonate dome with phase plug and ferrofluid. If you were careful you could use a 100W amp on them.

You just answered a question for me that i always wondered about. I remembered Grafyx from years ago and thought it was an Illinois based company, but i wasn't sure. Living in the suburbs of Chicago, i saw more than a few pairs of these floating around. Sean
