What is the break-in time for this speaker? What kind of cables are you using?
Follow Ups:
Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback. I have never had a speaker that is so revealing of the cable used. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. I have three pairs of cable, and this speaker sounds like a completely different speaker with each one. This is not a bad thing, because I actually do like their sound. Very smooth and sweet. Better bass than I expected. They are somewhat new and I don't think there are more than 20 hours on them, so I am very curious to hear more about break in time and how the sound progresses. This sounds like impatience, but I am asking strictly for the reason of knowing when to go out and buy the proper cables. I would prefer to apply new cables after their break-in period. Thanks.
approx 300 hours for em to open upConcertos (and Sonus fabers in general actually) seem to sound better with silver cables or the more neutral sounding copper like Au24 or Audio Note KSL-SPc
Agreed on silver. My Quantum Cable Silver Centauri Omnicron Reference speaker cables do wonderful things for my Extremas. They are 8 strands solid silver, 8 strands solid copper. Quantum is my own brand. (disclaimer)
Silver plated also works well, I use DPA Black Sixteen, 16 strands of silver plated copper, first with Concerto, now with EAII...
