hi there, i am new in tube amplifier and this is my first tube amplifier ASL aq1001dt, i have a new tubes that is kt120 and dont know how to bias the tubes, can pls anyone teach me how to bias the tubes for this amp, thank you.
Follow Ups:
Easy enough. Speakers connected, no music. Install the tubes, and while they are warming up, turn the tube selector that is on the side of the amp. You will see the meter reading change as everything warms up. If none of the tubes appear to be getting too high (over 500) on the meter then let them run for about ten minutes.
Turn the selector to the first tube and adjust for 500 (this equals 50ma)
Proceed to the next tube. You may have to run through the tubes several times.
If the tubes are new, check it after an hour or so and adjust if necessary.

Hi, i wondered if the 50ma bias setting for the kt120 is a bit low? I set the 6550 on my push pull amp at 70ma and higher depending on the 6550 i am running.
thank you so much for both of you dan and 6bq5, realy big helps.
Welcome to the Asylum-
Do you have the manual or schematic for the Amp?
while the tube has operating specs - the amplifier's circuit dictates the optimum bias for the given tube as employed in the amp-
I would also suggest that you e-mail ASL @ divergent@divertech.com
in that the amp is current production-
