How many of you went to Slayer concerts in the 80s and early-90s? Well, if you had, you would have experienced an awe, a sense of power unmatched by other acts.25 years ago, to capture this vibe, and to buy time for the next studio album, Slayer released the live double-album, Decade Of Aggression. Ignore the reviews praising its sound. Its poor sound eviscerated the band's power. You can't make out large swaths of the lyrics. Some of the songs were too short.
Also, this was the Fall 1991 semester, when the grunge revolution had begun. Thus, Decade Of Aggression did not sell well.
Whether you were a Slayer fan back then, or a more recent convert, skip Decade Of Aggression. We're better off with their studio versions of Reign In Blood, South Of Heaven, and Seasons In The Abyss.

Lummy-
are you spinning the new Metallica?
where are ya -Lummy?
Lummy- High Fives all around for President Trump!
I was tempted to get this but I think I'll skip it.
Actullay, it ties those studio albums together very nicely.
I do not report this about all "live" offerings.
Good advice -Lummy.
this is a classic "live" thrash release. Play it LOUD!
South of Heaven
Is there a CD release with good sound quality ? I lost my 25 year old record :(
Thanks for any information ;)
Mine is noticeably subpar as well. Not sure of the label but I'm pretty sure it's not a re-release of any kind. 'Seasons.." is much better from a production standpoint.
well, it is either a Def Jam or Def American label.
These "thrash" discs from the 80's were not recorded/produced w/ Audiophiles in mind. We must always enjoy the performance!
Welcome! MackRetep-
buy the Def Jam original, not the newer remaster CD.
