Hi guys I'm hoping someone here can help me out! I'm looking for some new "Prog-rock" CDs to buy, but I'm really struggling to find any good new, "Prog-rock" CDs with a few exceptions such as:
-- Moments of Clarity by Cryptic Vision
-- Across The Rubicon by Silhouette
-- three CDs by Mystery!
I love YES, Starcastle, Kansas, Triumvirate, Genesis etc. So perhaps someone can make a few new Progressive Rock recommendations for me, based on the CDs and groups I mentioned liking in this post?
TIA
I'm listening to Across The Rubicon by Silhouette

Follow Ups:
Based on the personal favorites you listed I would suggest...
Spock's Beard - A very melodic/catchy prog band that mixes the old with the new. The Neal Morse era albums are best. My favorite is Spock's Beard V.
Transatlantic - A modern prog rock supergroup featuring Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Pete Trewavas (Marillion) and Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings). If you like Spock's Beard you'll like Transatlantic. Their best album IMHO is Bridge Across Forever.
Porcupine Tree - Led by engineering wiz kid Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree came into existence quite by accident. The band's music has changed over time with a heavy Pink Floydish influence being heard during the early years. Shorter catchier songs became more prominent during the middle period then the band took a harder, darker turn toward the end. Porcupine Tree had a stellar peak run of studio albums starting with Stupid Dream (1999), then Lightbulb Sun (2000), In Absentia (2002) and Deadwing (2005). These four titles represent P.T. at their peak IMHO.
Anekdoten - This swedish band should scratch your King Crimson itch. If you like the Wetton/Brufford era of that iconic group then Anekdoten should interest you. I'd suggest you start with Nucleus--their second release--as it is their most progressive and challenging album.
Go to Wayside music they are the kings of prog old and new

A couple more...Haken and IQ and Flying Colors and IZZ

I Second the Porcupine Tree rec, and another Steve Wilson vehicle, Blackfield, is very good also. I also enjoy A Perfect Circle, the side project of the lead singer for Tool (which I also like a lot, but is more prog metal).
In Vino Veritas
You didn't mention Porcupine Tree. They have a significant back catalogue, as well as Steven Wilson's solo stuff which is also very good.

Since you like Genesis I would suggest Marillion. Also, Gentle Giant is always worth a spin. Then there are more recent bands like Echolyn and Spock's Beard, or, if you prefer it a bit more metallish, Dream Theater. And who can forget Jethro Tull?
Seriously, though, the website is a great resource.

You didn't mention older groups like King Crimson. I would check them out before newer stuff if you have not yet.
BenE I'm 62 and grew up listening to King Crimson. I can still remember the very first time I heard the LP " In The Court Of The Crimson King " when it ended I felt like I had traveled on a journey and didn't know how I got back home! Of course my old friend Panama Red might have played a part back then, but the music was that intense...

Thetubeguy1954, you'll probably enjoy KDVS' "Prog Rock Palace", Saturday afternoons noon to 2 P.M. Pacific (3-5 P.M. Eastern; 2000-2200 G.M.T. during daylight shifting time). DJs Curtis Caroll, Professor Prog, & Rock Shurewood review past progressive glories, whilst exploring new polyphonic pathways as well. Local artist Dolores 5000 has some interesting tunes, & dyno-myte guitar playing, on Sound Cloud-n-YouTube. 73s para Sactown
