Sam Cutler sent this to me, I thought I'd share it

Best Rod Stewart album of all. The whole album is great. Mandolin Wind is one of my favorites.
Thanks! for sharing.
One of my all time favourites.
This Maggie May recording is from Top of the Pops, featuring John Peel, the BBC D.J. responsible for the launch of many bands from the 60' onwards.
Now referred to as "The Blessed John" by those of us who owe him so much.
John was a rebel, and was told by the Director of the BBC he'd never appear on Top of the Pops again, after hosting the show and having too much fun.
Rod and the Faces brought him on as one of the band for a laugh.
of the video I posted where Appice just flails into the drums with reckless abandon. One of the great moments in drumming....and there ain't many!
It was a beautiful performance.
Though when the drums come in on the record it is far more thunderous.
I would not have thought Stewart could still sing it. He does get a little croaky towards the end.
First concert I was ever allowed to go to was Stewart & Faces. I remember Stewart's voice getting rough at that show but when it works, it remains one of the great voices of rock music. A beautiful instrument in the hands of one who knows how to use it, or, at least, used to.
Gave up on the old boy with ATLANTIC CROSSING. He should have stayed in Blighty.
