Have Paul and George. Expected to not have any Ringo, but no John? Seems I don't like any of his releases even though I love the Beatles and realize how very strong was his presence while a member, perhaps the best(?) Beatle? Or at least their leader. Just sayin'.
Is it me or did he really run out of good musical ideas? Just wonderin'.

I'd say it's just you.
By his own assessment (in the comprehensive Playboy interview), Lennon said that history would show that his songs like Imagine and Love would stand up to anything he did while with the Beatles.
I'd have to agree, although I freely admit that in the Sweet & Sour Beatles recipe, I've always much preferred the latter half.

Amore Solum Opus Est
his first album after the Beatles and a favorite of mine.
Classic cries of anguish and love, moody and hypnotic with a basic rock beat, stark piano
my favorite ex Beatle project
"I'd like to own a squadron of tanks"
maybe it was around the time he recorded this album...
creepy!

Tin is from the Video Asylum, where he and others sexualize almost everything. He didn't get it, thinks Had means sex. All they do over there is compare tits, and put down any actress guilty of getting older.
I have had a copy of the Plastic Ono Band, and Imagine since they came out. Powerful, beautiful music!
silly can appreciate.
I'll completely confuse you, I realize, by mentioning the Oedipus Complex and the fact that John was estranged from his mom at an early age and raised by an aunt. You may also consider there is a tape wherein John (allegedly) speaks of engaging in sexually arousing behavior with his mom. I'd also mention that at Yoko was seven years John's senior.
Next up, you'll argue that because Townshend is a rock God he shouldn't be considered a pedophile even though he was found to have frequented, over some time, sites devoted to that perversion. And then there's Michael Jackson....
I can enjoy the music and realize these fellows' problems, both.
No whitewash is necessary.
Actually, "Never had you" is what I was referring to. However, if what you say is correct, I stand corrected. No interest in the Who, or MJ, or whether John took heroin. James Taylor took heroin, too, I still love their music. "My Mummie's Gone" is another rough one from John, and Crippled Inside, from Imagine.
scuse me while I hurl...
