We needed a blu-ray player for the family room. Up to this point I've had the AppleTV streamer, Amazon Fire TV Stick streamer, and Cable TV DVR in the family room, along with a Marantz 2-ch stereo integrated amp.We still own a bunch of movies and concert blu-ray discs stored down in the basement. After doing a little research I convinced myself to buy the Sony UHP-H1 player. Will probably install it next week after I pickup some taller self-adhesive rubber feet for it. Unfortunately the Sony player will need to be stacked on top of another component and I want better air circulation underneath.

Hi !
if you will try it as a network streamer please report your opinions.
I see that it has also a digital rca out.
Kind regards,

"Playback of files from directly connected USB and files streamed over Ethernet, either sent from my servers or summoned by Sony's SongPal app, was also excellent."
Everything is copacetic for stereo. Multichannel is another story.

Thanks for posting the link Kal. I haven't seen that until now and I probably won't be 'streaming' to my Sony UHP-H1 anytime soon. Good to know that it works.
