The review I saw said he was running through the Analog Vol Control at Max, still using Line-Outs, made
sound warmer than Bypass.
I checked with Mytek, Owner said that was fine to do, but using Analog Vol direct into Amp was more transparent.
You might like DSD through the Mytek Brooklyn, I think it does 4 or 5X DSD, w/HQ.
It's probably a big step up from mine.
Follow Ups:
I have the discontinued MyTek Stereo-192DSD DAC that I picked up used a couple months ago. It's output signal is very robust. I had to move the jumpers inside to lower the output signal to bring it within a more manageable range. It's still robust and dynamic sounding while using it's front panel Volume knob. I can't say the same for the W4S DAC I once owned. It was a fine DAC but the volume control made things sound a little anemic if it wasn't set to full scale. I was just curious about the new Brooklyn DAC.
When I had the Mytek 192 i used it with a pre and always bypassed the volume control. Did not like driving power amps direct
