15ips tape transfer to 24/192 DVD-Audio disk, in my case.
More later.

I have this on Angle Records (mono?) but this transfer from 15 ips tape is hard to fault in any way.
The music itself is just sublime with far more emotional content than the famous RCA/CSO/Reiner which I have 1/2 dozen copies of including re-issues.
And as a bonus, the wife loves it too!
a real winner here.
Glad you enjoy it.

Hey guys. I am not very familiar with this company. Do they tell you what is the original source that they make the copy from? I would tend to doubt that they have the original 2 track master of this recording. But even if they have a 2nd or even 3rd generation copy it should still sound very good

In most cases HDTT doesn't give the provenance of the 2-track 15 ips tapes they use. I don't think they know. A lot of these tapes circulate on the used market, and there is debate among tape collectors about the generation of these copies. Mostly third to fifth generation is the consensus. Most companies did not master from the master tape, but a copy of the master. Commercially produced 2-track and 4-track 7½ ips tapes were duplicated this way. The critical factor was the duplication speed, with best results from real time speeds. As time went by, tape duplication speeds increased to save time and money.
The Tape Project folks duplicated from the edited master tape. I believe Chad Kassem of Acoustic Sounds is doing the same with their new 15 ips tape series. This guarantees the highest quality transfer.

I have the 24/192 DVD-A which sounds great on my Marantz DV-9600 and might well sound better if and when I get around to buying a proper ripping program for DVD-Audio.
