Thanks for posting.
I am constantly amazed by the vast differences in talent level between
the average classical guitarists, on the one hand, and the average jazz/
rock/blues/pop guitarists on the other hand.

If so, to which average jazz/rock/blues/pop guitarist would you compare her.
I would suggest that in terms of musicality she is all but incomparable. Her Three Preludes is like a dream come true. T456

She's way way way above average imho.
The very best jazz/pop/rock/blues guitarists I have heard are Joe Pass,
Chet Atkins, Leo Kottke, Les Paul, Tony Rice, Dan Crary, the guy from
Australia whose name I cannot recall at the moment, Johnny Smith, and
about 3 or 4 others. I beleive this woman would have no problem keeping
up with any of these guys. Just watch her right hand.
Tony Rice is a favorite of mine, but is it fair to ask him to play J.S. Bach's "Allemande" BWV 995, or to ask Kavanaugh to play "Manzanita" and compare these performances to each other?
Street performances of either piece by unknown amateurs can be quite good IMHO.
I am willing to maintain, however, that Rice could play the Bach piece
given a little time to practice, and Kavanaugh could play Manzanita
given a little time to practice. Both have the brains and the musical
chops to do this. Whether they want to do this is, of course,
problematical.
I'll check out Tony Rice. Never heard of him. My goal is to collect and listen to what my brain tells me is great music. Just like audio, everyone has to make up their own mind who they like or who is better. T456
