Klemperer/Schwartzkopf EMI.
Second is heavenly, beyond genius, entirely coherent.
The other 9 are self-indulgent, confused, disjointed horse-puckey.

Welcome! kitch29-
how much did you spend?
I have great affection for this recording it was the first Mahler 2nd that I really liked. For fun I did a bit of digging regarding Klemperer and his Mahler 2 recordings. I found four distinct ones, I think. His first, on Vox in 1951 with Ilona Steingruber, a soprano I had never heard of (she died at age 50 in 1962, and recorded some Lieder with Rita Streich - that's all I can tell you about her).
There is a live recording (I think) with Kathleen Ferrier, and perhaps another one with the Concertgebouw, although I didn't find details to be sure if this is two separate recordings.
The 1951 Vox recording was reissued on CD in the mid 90s to quite poor reviews, even though it is apparently much livelier than the subsequent EMI recording. The other fun thing I picked up was that a seller on Ebay listed the EMI performance on Melodiya. DId Melodiya have a contact with EMI or did they just pirate stuff? I don't recall seeing Russian pressings of EMI records from the early 60s.
Finally, as a hint for the OP, much of Klemperer's Mahler recordings can be obtained for reasonable amounts as SLS pressings. Not collectable like the blue silver ones, but often the same matrices, and good quality vinyl.

ride for me, though I'm beginning to think my long honeymoon with the 2nd is fizzling out.I'm assuming you're joking about his other symphonies?

Disagree with the horse-puckiness! If you can read a score, you'll soon see the incredibly organized use of counterpoint that Mahler makes in his best pieces (for me, these are 5-6-9). These are tightly organized pieces that never waste the listener's time. Add the first movement of 8 to that list.
As far as the Second is concerned, I'm done as soon as the chorus comes in. I found it impressive when I was 16, and now it's just boring.
The other versions sound like horse-puckey, confused and disjointed...
