Couple of days ago. Guitarist for Big Brother. I always thought BB&THC epitomized amateurism, but for some that was part of the attraction. I hardly think the group would have gone anywhere without Joplin.

The Stones, the Kinks, The Youngbloods, early Elton john, early Jackson Brown, the Eagles, Linda Rondstadt, Buffalo Springfield morphing to Crosby, Still Nash and Young. Traffic, Dave Mason, Joe Cocker, Creedence, the horn groups like BS&T,Chicago, and Chase, Rod Stewart........and a zillion others.

How much of it, once published, is by now virtually forgotten?
As proven by hundreds of musical guests over the past 40 years on SNL. Having always understood this, I preserved my hearing by avoiding loud clubs and concerts. But rock did have it's moments. Listening to 'Wallflower' by Diana Krall brought some of those moments to mind.

Was thinking the same thing and then remembered who she's married too.
Guess some o' that R&R spirit could conceivably rub off but I'm hesitant to listen to her to find out!
