And I'm kind of liking it.

Not to be completely sarcastic, but have you ever noticed that Bruckner symphonies are long? Really long? Mr. Tinear [who really does have tinears] recently even went to the great trouble of starting a thread on the topic. Maybe you've seen it. Linked below. Tin says that it's not even possible to listen to all of a long piece of music, or even most of it. Maybe not more than a few seconds at a time. He even cites some flawed scientific studies proving the point.
So, given all of that, why would you make some really, really long music....even longer!.... by performing it at slow, glacial tempi? Why?
I cannot speak for others, but to me, Bruckner done "S-L-O-W" is Bruckner done right......
I hope you will have a chance to listen to the Rémy Ballot-conducted Bruckner I recorded in high-res surround in St Florian: Symphony 8 in 2014, Symphony 9 in 2015, and coming out next month Symphony 6 in 2016. All are on Gramola SACDs -- unfortunately, 5.0 downloads are not yet available but have been promised soon (from Primephonic).

I like this, 'Bruckners Arrival Heaven'
"Sometime I will have to give an account of myself. How would the Father in Heaven judge me if I followed others and not Him?"
Anton Bruckner
Probably off your subject, I like the Wand performances especially the 8th at Lubeck.
and I know the one with the picture of the Lubeck Church is one of them.
What about the one above? And how many 8's did he record? At least half a dozen, likely more?
I know about the cd you pictured but do have it, not sure how long.
I believe they are very similar in length. The special quality of Lubeck was the acoustical aspects of the venue as I recall when I read the revues.
Also now that you have me thinking shorter ones would be Eugene Jochum with Berlin Philharmonic and Eliahu Inbal with Radio Symphony Orchestra Frankfurt(orignal version). Inbals cycle on Teldec is unique in that he recorded all the original versions, not sure if another conductor did thatDo you know about this site?

I'd stay with No.3.
The Youth Orchestra thing is great for a live performance but not quite up to Hi Rez standards and expectations. Just a guess.
Both are up on Spotify if your search for Conductor 'Remy Ballot'
Think you will agree that it's No.3
