You might be interested in a group called Pentatonix - they mostly do covers of other groups - a pretty cool one of Daftpunk. One member is a walking beatbox/percussion vocalist.
The even managed to move this Atheist with their rendition of Little Drummer Boy.

The music vids sound to me a little processed and perhaps lip-synched.
But when they competed on that "American Idol for Vocal Groups" program they were electrifying.

The particular video I linked sounds like it was recorded in a hall so it's definitely lip-synced. Their Daft Punk video is processed - still they are pretty tight as vocalists.
The video for the DaftPunk recreation was apparently made on a shoe string budget last minute - aside from the take it or leave it song which many will no doubt despise - the video is pretty awesome - linked below.
I do not get TV so I hadn't realized they were on one of the vocal game shows. I should imagine they won or were in the final rounds?
They certainly do what they do well. Now I would like to see then have a songwriter rather than seemingly just cover other artists - but one step at a time I suppose. I liked that they brought in Lindsay Sterling as the ballet dancing violinist for "Radioactive".
