Apparently, it's now finally available in the UK. But Amazon US says it's delayed AGAIN until September 2. I'm hoping that with US availability, it will become available as a hi-rez download too, maybe on HD Tracks or ProStudioMasters. This is bound to be such an important recording in the history of Bach interpretation (no other cellist can bring the experience of Vogue and Elle to this music!) that I want to hear every last inaudible overtone!
And as I mentioned in my last post (last month), I think Nina looks better now that she's 40-ish than she did 15-20 years ago - and that's kind of rare!
Follow Ups:
... I relegated Kotova to the "just another pretty face" corner. I was totally unimpressed with her phrasing and technique. And as for her own brief "concerto," I was left wondering after listening to it, how could someone so beautiful write something so ugly?
I might someday pick up her Bach suites in a bargain bin, as I have a sad penchant for "collecting" recordings of the solo cello suites, but I'm not holding my breath, and surely not be paying premium prices for it.

... when he doesn't get his Bach fix .... uh ... Babe fix. ;-)

Seriously, do those last two still exist?
(Not her real name!) I think she had a. . . uh. . . pictorial in Playboy.
Never heard her CD myself, but one of the best Amazon customer comments for it was "tolerable". (Never saw her pictorial either!)

Sorry!
But heck, all ya gotta do is play some Starker and look at the picture above. ;-0
I'd like to see you hear inaudible.
See?

Check out this documentary about the late Charlotte Moorman, aka the Topless Cellist. A Little Rock, Ark. beauty pageant winner turned professional cellist who performed with Stokowski, turned avant garde performance artist playing topless and/or with a television on her head, or even -- gasp -- music by John Cage. Arrested (should I say busted?) and convicted for onstage nudity in NYC, barred from Carnegie Hall, guest on the Johnny Carson show, etc.Your Vogue and Elle babe cellist has some catching up to do.

Typical intellectual documentary... all talk and no tits.
It's like a documentary about the taste of coffee which has 16 prominent figures talking about coffee cups.
