There are countless classical performances on YouTube...... But only a select few hold my attention....... This is one such case.
First movement of Bruckner Fourth Symphony.......
This is proof you don't need a world famous orchestra to get an engaging performance. The Orquestra Petrobras Sinfônica does three things extraordinarily well, for any orchestra, in this performance- Articulation, overall cohesiveness, and phrasing. With a good read (in the limited portion of the work) from conductor Günter Neuhold. What you hear is Bruckner with its full harmonic color, devoid of the "leaden" character that often plagues this composer's music. (I also get the impression the hall this orchestra performs in has world class acoustics- Each section comes across crystal clear in the linked recording.) This is just an excerpt, but this looks and sounds like an interesting music institution that might garner attention.

not-so-nova; sailing and kayaking in a pristine area; hiking in a national forest replete with amazingly colored birds and VERY large monkeys; pigging out on the world's best barbecue (churrasco) and terrific seafood dishes; consuming vast quantities of the native fruits that will be tomorrow's big hits in this country (acai is the last "big thing" to have been imported).
Next time, I'll make some room for classical...
(typo in header: "forgo," of course, should read "forgo," with an accent on the last letter....).

America is the greatest country on earth! (shudder)
They also don't think it's fair for the US to take the name, "America," since it as justly can be applied to Southern hemisphere countries....
Anyhow, you'd hate it. They actually voted a union chief for president and then followed it up by electing a (double shudder) woman with a student activist background!
I don't know how those two have presided over the world's most successful economy over the past 10 years. I guess "Commies" (in your book) do better than raging conservatives in modern economies (see W's "success").
"What's horrible about it is they don't think America is the greatest country on earth! (shudder)"
What's so horrible about that? With what has gone on in recent time, I'd be inclined to agree...........
but is the classical equivalent of the "WHOOOO!" (at rock recordings) the COUGH? can't you just hear the classical attendee bragging to his friends that it was HIS cough right there after the crescendo? heheheh.
yes, i know many great performances are recorded live and i have a few (mostly on the BBC club discs) and they are still enjoyable. many people object to the audience noises but it doesn't bother me.
i really like the inclusion of video on classical music. it adds a lot of dimension and atmosphere.
