I can't remember a thread being beaten about the head and shoulders so much...
Follow Ups:
.........any proof that I am wrong ! LOLthere has been much speculation but no hard evidence
sure would love to hear from folks who use aluminum for their interconnects , speaker wire ,cross over or speaker voice coils ......
why go to the expense of copper wire in your speaker coils when aluminum wire is 1/4 the price or less ?
why did anyone shell out $$$$ when aluminum wire would have been great as speaker wire ?
maybe the copper used on the LRS could be thinner ...... maybe it would create a better magnetic field ?
maybe Magnepan does not want its costumers to be thinking about expensive copper
but yes - I agree - I was pummeled ..... to make it worse Davey even got in a jab

Your points of reference keep changing, and the things that you are wanting to be proven are, for the most part, not technically provable one way or the other. They are matters of subjective perception. Even Magnepan's designers are, by necessity, having to use subjectivity in their design decisions, like all loudspeaker designers.

that why there are ten thousand different speaker manufactures - nobody can agree on the best way to make a speaker
FAR FAR fewer manufactures of drivers for speakers. Box fabricators are by the score compared to those who make drivers......
Too much is never enough
I'll go with theirs ;)

I was talking about myself - see OP - now this is about you - that's funny !

Your defensiveness in all of this is epic. You initially ask for opinions, and now you're saying that offering opinions is making it all about oneself? Too funny.

This guy is just running a comedy bit here on AA. It's been going on for quite awhile now.
I quit taking him seriously a long time ago. I suggest you do the same.Dave.

Davey you are the last person to talk about anyone - you are a sadistic bastard who loves to bad mouth people
I am not even talking about myself - I have seen you do it to others - you are an idiot ..... you are a buffoon
Very nice. And not a hint of hypocrisy. :)
Dave.
care to tell the forum how many times I nicely asked you to follow one of the most basic forum rules :
1) no personal attacksI think it was about 5 times ..... and what did you tell me ?

this is the kind of thing kids learn not to do when they are in elementry school :}
how about this time YOU come up with a thread and I will lambast it ?
Edits: 03/21/23
You're free to lambast me at any time......if you can stay focused. 99% of the time you take the exit ramp on some silly tangent, which, you do with other AA posters as well. (This very thread is a perfect example.)
I've been contributing occasionally here since AA started in 2001. Feel free to search the archives for my comments/threads and ask me about any of them.
Just so you know, you're not the first audiophile to be on the receiving end of my (purposely) pesky questions and comments. I have a zero-tolerance policy for audiophile nonsense and many, like "Peter Gunn", have found that out first-hand.
Conversely, some people speak from ignorance. That, I don't have a problem with and I will roll with them for awhile.....unless I feel like I'm wasting my time.
You seem to have some background with audio equipment and could probably talk half-way knowledgably about your experiences. Start doing that and leave this closed-loop comedy shtick on the sidelines and you'll be a lot better off.
And, as usual, you've quoted me out of context. Ahem.
Dave.
..... stop being a Jerk.
Now I am also your life coach :)
How wonderful. Can you be my audio coach too??
I've got a life coach, an audio coach, and Story is going to help me with my mental problems.
Jackpot! And all in one thread.
Could you teach me about self-awareness too?
Dave.
but not from me
.... snort
Have you got an answer to your original question yet?
Who knows, they might build it for you if you throw 'em a few bucks.
Dave.
maybe some meds also. He should seek help now before it's too late and he does something really stupid
this is a forum about stereo speakers where a bunch of 70 year olds discuss the techno nerdy aspects of a particular design of driver - this is not a socially important topic such as the starvation of children due to famine in Chad Africa.
And what do you do ?
you take it all ridiculously too seriously - become rude and insulting with personal attacks - violate the basic forum rules that even a 10 year could understand.
are you one of these guys whos wife has trained you to pee sitting down ?
good Lord
There's even a better reason. If your speaker bears too much resemblance to another's (i.e. Magnepan) you can get sued and driven out of business.
I think you're a little confused on who has the burden of proof. :)
Dave.
as long as it's not magic crystal pebbles. That's what Wilma Flintstone and Geoff Kait minions do
