There is no way I could put these speakers in storage,
no matter how much room they take up.The only speaker I have heard that could take their place is Apogee and they take up the same amount of space.
I will arrange the furniture somehow to make it work.
They are too enjoyable to go without...how spoiled are we!!
Follow Ups:
Guess whatever makes you fee good...
Scott look into Apogee Stages or the Centaur Minor. The Stage will deliver nearly full-range sound from a quite compact package. Still need space behind them though.
if the 2.6's don't work in my new place I will look into the smaller Apogees.
Don't want to give up the ribbon sound!Which of the smaller Apogees has a smaller footprint?
The Centaur and Slant hybrids have a smaller footprint than the full planar speakers because they are much wider. Obviously, they are shallow I am assuming that width is your main footprint criteria.
Scott 2.6/R without his 2.6Rs? I mean I found myself actually holding my breath a bit as I read the posts starting from the bottom up, only to find you weren't really giving them up or putting them in storage. Shame on you!
on my new place I started to panic because the room is 13 by 17 with all windows on one end and open to dining room at other.I thought they wouldn't work but my room right now is 13x14 and they sound glorious. There will bbe compromises in the furniture layout but my partner loves them as well so we shall see soon.
How is your amp search going?
