  my bad...didn't know there was a process for that. How long did it take before they needed to be 'stretched'?

    "retuning" is a bit of a myth really. Over time the foam damping breaks down on the edges of the bass ribbons, and this allows the structural resonances of the ribbon to be heard undamped. Most FR's are quite old though still excellent in the extreme. Good reading;-
