Your speaker has of one of the finest sounds Apogees a are capable of. First of all, how are your ribbons. According to a longtime builder of Apogees, the Centaur ribbon is their best. If they are in good order, look to their attending equipment. What is the rest of your system?

That's interesting. Could you expand what they mean by this?I agree Centaur series does sound quite great in treble/mids, perhaps the one to beat in this size category. The woofer system, though, could use a lot of help..
True. The Apogee hybrids don't have the bass integration of their bigger brethren.GD, who's top drawer system is listed at Audiogon, has disconnected his Full Range mid and tweeter ribbons, supplanting them with the Centaur ribbon. That's how good they are.
The Minor used the same etched ribbon as the Stage, a very good ribbon, and I mean good. The bass response is limited to about 40 hz so a sub would be needed. They should throw a huge, wide soundstage.
