Chargers move to Los Angeles?
Rams move to Los Angeles?
Raiders move to Las Vegas?
Is this all correct? Will Rams and Chargers share the new stadium in Inglewood, CA? But when will that be done? Where will they play in the mean time?
I don't get too wrapped up in the business / greed side of things. I just enjoying watching a few good match ups during the season. ;-)
Follow Ups:
Chargers and Rams are a 'done deal'.
Oakland? Still seeing if some city will bend over for them.
Yes, it will be a shared facility and a scheduling nightmare. New stadium, give them 3 years to complete, will be busy EVERY weekend during the season. A couple Mondays or Thursdays tossed in for good measure.
it'll be Hell living near that place.
In the meantime? StubHub Center in CARSON which holds all of 30,000 people.
And don't forget the SuperBowl will be coming to Inglewood, sooner than later!
OH! One other thing. The new stadium is in the Landing Pattern for LAX. Right on Final. This should prove interesting for TV coverage with Non-Stop Jet Noise overhead.
Too much is never enough
Two teams will still only generate 16 games at the stadium.

If it were ONLY football, I wouldn't be concerned.
But, you have 8th grade boys who know every wide receiver in the NFL but don't know in which century the Civil War was fought. That's a problem.
Factor in the greedy owners living off what amounts, in part, to a form of industrial welfare and there 'ya go.
Let's see. Owner makes Millions. Guy selling stuff at the stadium? maybe 10$ per hour and part time, at that.
Too much is never enough
Consider this ... your school taxes in part fund entry level, Class A minor league football in middle-school. Your school taxes then also fund Class AA minor league football at the high-school level. Your taxes also probably pay for Class AAA minor league football at the college level. The NFL then DEMANDS that your taxes also pay for their stadiums. The NFL teams then, after having had you fund their entire talent development system AND their facilities charge ticket prices that regular people, who've paved the way for them, cannot afford. It is a sham and a perfect example of how corporate America always want to socialize the costs and privatize the profits. I refuse to take a willing part in this ripoff any longer. End of rant. It IS a cesspool of greed and depravity.
Hadn't got to the 'farm system' yet. But you appear to be right. Their exist other football leagues, but the NFL draws so little talent from them that it doesn't count.
Some guys are in a holding pattern in Europe, too, I'll bet.
NFL used to have 'development squads' as part of the team. I knew somebody who played for Denver on one such squad. Actually made a few downs in some real games.
Too much is never enough
The entire NFL is in a downward spiral. If the only thing that keeps it going is taxpayer money then that form of welfare must be stopped. If the NFL can't survive on its own it should be allowed to die a quick death.
Too many teams, excessive expansion, exorbitant salaries, etc. But we, the public, still allow it to happen. If this continues we only have ourselves to blame.
Cheers,
SB
owners make billions actually. I abhor what they get away with too. As to kids not knowing the century of the Civil War you have to admit if there were no football there would be just as many uneducated kids. That problem is systemic in both the failure of the family unit and our pathetic 21st century lifestyle. Media and advertising are controlling the mesage if you will and are the biggest culprit in this.

Years ago I lived in Hawthorne, near the Hawthorne Airport which was fairly close to where the new stadium will be. Most of the year the planes at LAX would take off over the ocean (West) but land from the East. I would never say that it was quiet but it was tolerable.
The real noise problem was when the normal wind pattern (from the ocean) changed and the jets were forced to take off into winds coming from the mountains to the East and to land from the West. This was when airport noise was very LOUD. This is more of a winter condition and will be a real issue during football season.
I don't miss living near the LAX approach.
John
Thanks for 1st hand account.
When the winds change, I think that is called a 'Santa Ana' wind condition. They are HOT and DRY and blow straight off the mountains which accounts for compressive heating of the winds.
2 other SoCal Airports also are in noise abatement areas. Lindbergh (San Diego International) takes off over Point Loma ($$$ area) and the Military Base at Miramar NAS takes off over what amounts to
La Jolla. ($$$$) which is why it'll NEVER be converted to a commercial field.
I have an airport plan that NOBODY wants to hear about which may actually work?
Too much is never enough
True, indeed. Even my house, about 80 air miles away is on the OUTER approach. We have a boundry marker or whatever up on the coast about 9 miles from HERE. Aircraft go OVER my house, heading basically West and are at about 12,000 feet / descending. You can hear them but it isn't awful and only happens a couple times per day, tops.
But, I'm talking FINAL. That is the straight shot aircraft take at ever decreasing altitude until they touch down.
No Where NEAR as noisy as the other end of the runway at takeoff (full power!) but still annoying since it goes on almost 24 / 7
The proposed stadium is a couple miles from the end of the runway and maybe displaced a couple hundred feet from straight on.
I can hardly wait for a SuperBowl to be played there.
Too much is never enough
... for the NFL, Pictureguy. Here it is, Divisional Playoff week, & national sports media is only concentrating on Charger move to L.A./Carson. And none of the coverage is positive. ... A Raider move to Vegas will kill what ever home field advantage they currently enjoy in the biggity biggity "O". Here they are, one of the few fan bases that consistently sells out, & owner says it aint good enough. Was a bad enough look when you saw visiting fans taking over Murphy's Q, ya know? ... Sounds like they should name Kranky's Inglewood project Shea Stadium (;{)
You should see PETCO when the CUBS are in town!
1/2 or better in the stands are in Cubs Blue. I wear my cap.
Too much is never enough
StubHub stadium holds only 30,000 fans? Good luck with that.
And the new stadium in the landing pattern on LAX final! Hmm, I'll have to watch some of those games just to see how they handle the jet noise that you mentioned.
Thanks.
