Mid 50's Commander also the super hawks were great looking cars I always thought never owned one.
I knew an old guy that raced them in the 50's. My dad had one before I was born and referred to it as the Stupidbaker.

I hear you on that.I'm a Ford man from A to Z.I will give credit to GM for the LS engines because they used the architecture of the Ford Windsor engines in many ways and even the original Y block.They no longer use the siamese exhaust ports as they did on the SBC and they use a 10 bolt pattern with almost identical placement.

I had no idea anyone would reach back to the Ford Y Block for a new engine design. I always heard it was kind of a dog that filled the gap between the flat head and the small blocks and big blocks of later years. That's fascinating.
My favorite Ford engine is probably the FE big block. I had a 1966 Galaxie 500XL convertible with a 352. Not very fast, but I loved it. My Holy Grail car is the 1966 Galaxie 7-Liter convertible with the 428. I love everything about that car! I want it in fire engine red with white interior please. Thank you. ;-)

A relative had a Studebaker back in the day. He said it was, and I quote, "the biggest piece of crap" ever.

My late brother in law had a similar one with that body on an early Chevrolet Monte Carlo chassis. Cool car but not nearly as nice as that one.
