I went and picked up a mint Mac Mc240,a C20 preamp, and an MR-66 tuner for a song.Anyway his wife runs a shelter for animals that is run on donations and he had a basket of these guys..I wanted to take her so bad but I don't want Patrick and Ellie to have to get used to another cat.

Not sure how you resisted. You have more discipline than I do! :)
she just would have broke your heart down the road though.
Which (IMO) is something to live for.
I can't even stop and visit "pop-up" animal adoption places though = want to take them ALL home; cats, dogs, ferrets, don't matter.

I know too well about the breaking your heart part. We lost Nikkolai (the Tonkinese) a couple weeks ago. He was almost 16. It happened very quickly -- from suddenly acting very strangely one night aimlessly wandering around and meowing at nothing to being gone the next afternoon. My wife had called the vet first thing that next morning and set up a 4:00 appointment, but he didn't make it until then. I'm guessing he had a stroke, and the only silver lining was that he didn't suffer or spend a long period of time just "existing." Really miss that guy.
Found this one at Kitty City, a shelter that's run by volunteers and housed in a donated store space. She's a rambunctious little critter, fearless, and has already assumed ownership of the household. She'll never be Nikk, but I'm sure she'll take a place in our hearts in her own way.
she just would have broke your heart down the road though. That's the problem with any living thing but even tho they will die one day,I can't discount the monumental joy my two cats bring me by just having a couple of living subjects in my presence. They stay by me when I'm not feeling well and they keep me relaxed in tense moments.I don't need a 3rd cat tho..
My daughter still has the bengal and the abyssinian we got when she was just 12yo..She is 27yo now but she realizes their time is limited. She was going to leave Ritzie with me but I told her she shouldn't break the two up.

As we now both wish to travel, the current two partners in crime and armed truce are the last pets.
I am going to miss them. I wonder how long for though!

Depending on how you want to travel, get yourself a motorhome and tour the country side and you can take your pets with you.

'Travel' here in Australia rarely means driving around Australia. In 2012 31% of us went overseas. And, it's been rising since.
It means leaving and heading for somewhere else.
There is no way I will ever buy, or hire a motor-home. I would certainly not take our two ageing cats with us. You do recall that they are old?

I've visited a lot of countries since I was a kid and what I've noticed in recent years is how Westernized the world is becoming.Ever since we've become a global economy, much of the commerce architecture has taken on a similar layout when you look at malls and stores and things of entertainment.Of course there are things unique to each nation such as landmarks or natural history but that's what makes it so nice about living the US..We can literally drive from one culture to another in a matter of hours.I will see you when you get to Michigan.
