how long do you use your razor before you toss it? For years I've tossed mine after 1 week of use. The topic came up at work one day and some say they tossed theirs after 4 weeks. Just curious.
I use the Gillette fusion.
Follow Ups:
I've used the SAME Gillette Blue Blade for about a decade now.
I keep it dry and in a PYRAMID when not actually on my face.
Too much is never enough
And I shave my face 5 days a week, and my legs as well, about twice a week - so a lot of surface area.
I use the 5 blade Gillette Fusion.
Cheers,

I used to (a long time ago) use a Remington electric shave, which was fine. But when it died, I went to disposable blades. BIC, Gillette. That didn't last long. Then, about 10-15 years ago, I went to the Gillette Fusion 3-blade razor. Still use it. I haven't bought a can of shaving cream since forever. Here's a hot tip... Shave in the shower. The warm moist air and water softens up the whiskers. Then finish up the details in the mirror while the remaining whiskers are still soft.
BTW, ALL razors have disposable blades.

I like the "Good News" blades that don't have the lubricant strip. I just change them when it starts to drag too much or start to irritate, and my skin is sensitive to such roughness. Since growing the goatee though, they've been going a lot longer.

While technically not a disposable, my Gillette Fusion has lasted longer than I can remember. Granted, I only shave 3 -4 times a week but I can't remember when I last replaced the blade.
Yes, the blades are expensive but the cost per shave is ridiculously low.

I dry mine thoroughly after each use and I can get 6 months out of a blade.

So... do you just dry it off with a towel? Or just blow the water out?
Mostly a towel and sometimes with a hair dryer if I'm at the gym. Learned this trick from an eternal tightwad.

I think I'll try this and keep track of the number of shaves I get. Currently if I stretch a razor out to 4 weeks, I'm hurting.
My razor lasts about 2 - 3 weeks for me. Beyond that and I find myself putting more effort into shaving with poorer results and more irritation.
I have a beard AND am lazy, so blades last a LONG time here.
And now that it's winter... even longer.

I can't vouch for his results, but I remember hearing Clark Howard talk about it on his radio show. (link below)
