I'd love to take this one on a fall west coast road trip.

...nearly has a permanent spot in my dream garage.
It is the '68 280 SE 3.5 that keeps it out of there.
Pretty much the same except that it has a 3.5L V8 and most importantly a slightly wider grille which makes it look just a little bit sleeker.
The convertible version does not get anywhere near my garage. Like 99% of all drop tops it looks very much inferior to the tin top version.
Of course either are out-merc'd by the older (and french) Facel Vega II.
One of my handful of all time favorites.
True nuts-&-bolts restoration. Looks like engine is not original for the chassis?Wonder what the asking price is? Cabriolet model prolly go for twice as much. I'm guessing $75K, for that coupe?

"Please call for pricing" nothing in that shop is marked for price, even the parts and accessories in a display case.
If anyone else is doing higher level restorations I haven't seen them yet. Canepa cars are really too nice to drive.
What is the issue with the originality of the engine?
Have a great Monday
Friend is actually looking for a used one of these. Pretty good price, for this track-able car. Last of the manual tranny, normal aspirated H6-engine cars.
that would be my pick as well, GT-3 with mezger engine with a manual tranny, no flappy paddles thank you very much.
but then there's the Ferrari F430... :-)
