I took the liberty of re-interpreting a shot I liked from the ORIGINAL POST:
Too much is never enough
Shot @ crater lake from the mid-80s, when they had a busted water pipe and EVERYONE who ate or drank ANYTHING at the park ended up getting a gamma globulin shot! on the house!
This is a SCAN of a Transparency. Probably Ektachrome 160
My dad, hamming it up.
Too much is never enough
...my wife, her sister and our daughter drove by Crater Lake a couple of years ago in May and it was covered in snow all around the lake. The photos look like postcards - gorgeous place.
Deepest natural lake in the US (Tahoe is #2)- the amazing thing is no rivers flow into or out of it.

the snow pack is 22 feet. It has reached 44 feet which is truly amazing. It is drop dead breathtaking to see all that snow, the lake, BTW, never freezes either. When it blew it blew 3000 feet off the mountain. The gas was 2000 degrees and it traveled out at 200MPH. See linky for details...
It is, without any doubt, the most dramatic and magical lake I have ever stood slack-jawed in front of.
Cute, but filthy, flea ridden, diseased, oft times rabid ...
this little bastard ripped off my wife's middle finger. This will severely affect her driving style forever.
Not only do the bite, but they hold on. I had to thump one in the head to get it to release. a perfect case of biting the hand that feeds you.
As opposed to licking the boot that kicks you?
Too much is never enough
That's a heck of a hole. I always enjoy looking down into a volcanic crater. It gives perspective on the moment.
It's a hard place to photograph, but you did fine, especially the close up.
here is another Crater Creature. The water changes color from angle to angle, it is a dramatic place....I'll be back up there again today to escape the heat wave we are getting baked from...
I like this shot.
Even the lens vignetting works. (darker in corners)
Too much is never enough
