LWR, what a kind and thoughtful gesture. If there were more such people the world would be a better place. Kindness is never the wrong option. You have set a fine example for the rest of us. May karma reward you richly.

What a cute little girl. So sorry to hear of her troubles. Thanks for showing her some lovin'.

Had a thought... what do you guys think about taking up a collection for Bella? Was thinking that maybe set up a PayPal account for her or something along those lines and we could send her donations?
Just throwing it out there, I feel like I need to do something to help this darling little girl. I can't imagine what she's going through. If I lost my mom suddenly like that at her age I'd be devastated.

the family now wishes to be alone and as generous as that suggestion may be, it is not the time. Thank you for a noble gesture and perhaps sometime down the line this can be...
She is surrounded by a community that no one knew was there to support her. Her dad is just about in total disbelief, it is a long road ahead for them both and he asked me to allow healing..
Again, thank you for caring.
Bella, a beautiful name, and it's nice to see she's smiling.
Good on you. My heart aches for the young lady, I rejoice in the thought that you and others are there for her.
She's a beautiful young lady, and I think your benefit was angels work, God bless you.
You're alright and then some.
And then some more.

Tough deal. I hope she had a good day.
all the day long. Her daddy (blown kneecap) said this when I asked how she is dealing with the loss..."she misses her mom so much...she just wants her to come home.."
Even at my age a little girl can still break my heart.
The outpouring of donations was amazing for such short notice. Wineries donated wines by the case. There were silent auctions for homemade stuff, cookies jars full of cookies were raffled off, beer was donated, a large number of folks brought all kinds of yummy food. We had a chili contest, a ribs contest, a pie contest, games and face painting for the kids.
One of the things that got me and the Mrs a bit teared up was how the other children took Bella under their wings and seemed to surround her with care and love, we felt so very privileged to see this.
The money raised will be in a special trust for her future needs.
