Went to a new local Italian place last night.
Wholey Moley.
We ordered the 1 metre pizza but couldn't finish it all between three of us.
This piccy is of our neighbouring table who ordered a 2 metre one!
Wood fired pizza ovens and staff imported direct from Naples!
Cheers,
John K

Chicago Style
Cork St Cafe, in Gundaroo, Just outside the ACT in NSW. Outdoor dining under big umbrellas. We had the big rustic wooden table and benches. It was a mild day, but most of us took hats, anyway.

I think it is an old 19C inn with stables. A kitchen in the stables along with local artist's work in the wet weather/overflow stalls.
It is a pity, but I took no photos. I should check around and see if anyone else took any.
6 different medium pizzas and 4 salads. Thin crust and wonderful toppings.
See below, we shared a Primavera, a Corfu, a Smoked Chicken, a Valentino, a Mexicana, and a Meat Lovers, two Greek salads. There was nothing left over.
A single vanilla sponge cake - with shaved coconut over cream icing and a single 'happy birthday' decoration - was shared to finish.
One Bottle of French Cremant sparkling, a bottle of Shiraz, and I drank Cooper's Mild Ale - 3 0f. Plus 6 flip-top bottles of tap water to go around. Quite a few just drank water / coffees.
The occasion? was a double birthday, one for our new daughter-in-law and one for big Mike, our 'best man' in 1979. ? Friday 23rd February.

I could so do with a 'Mediterranean'... right after I cleaned the drool off my keyboard.
And the pizzas look goooood!
It's essential for your sanity to continue to enjoy al fresco dining and a few drinks as often as possible before the weather turns again!

It's usually high 30's C, I just keep worrying how much more extreme February might get or if we'll have a HOT autumn instead!!
;-)!

I have. And American pizza is WAY better. Much tastier..
These guys are good.
Only the freshest best ingredients. Simple traditional combinations. Beautifully put together.
Voted #1 pizza in Sydney in 2013 - no easy feat.

"Have you a water buffalo?"
Few of the good ones are brewed by CUB which 'markets' Fosters. They put most of their effort into marketing it.
Their Crown Lager is a lot better than Fosters, even gets close to bitter, like a lager should. IIRC there are one or two others which are okay to good, but I have forgotten their names.
The old-fashioned-est brewer is Coopers of Adelaide, South Australia which is famous for its bottle conditioned real ales. Their Sparkling Ale is known among real ale fanciers world wide as 'the champagne of beers' as it matures on the dieing yeast cells in the bottle - like champagne on its lees before remouillade is carried out - as do the other three b-c ales. Stout, Pale Ale, Brown, and Mild. It makes a new one-off German Lager for Schutzenfest / Oktoberfest, each year.
There is one other very old company/brand? Toohey (owned by? .....) which makes Toohey's Old which is also a real ale. It's also quite dark in colour. AKA Hunter Ale after the Hunter Brewery in Newcastle, New South Wales, where I grew up. It was a coal and steel town once.
There have also arisen a goodly number of boutique / craft breweries, most doing an IPA. Not one of which IMO matched the original from Bass in the UK. Far too many beers sold here by the big companies as Ales are actually Lagers.
One of them is quite good and that is Cascade Pale Ale, which is a better Lager IMO than the same maker's Cascade Premium Lager. And they are now selling it only in 4-packs or as a case, at a premium price.
Fosters is an eminently forgettable beer. It does not sell well here although other members of the fairly awful / overly sweet CUB lines do. Like Victoria Bitter which just isn't.
When I visited the USA in 1997 and 1998 I made a point of trying the SF 'steam beer' which is halfway between an ale and a lager, and to 'High Sierra'? pale ale? The ales i consumed in Baltimore in 98 slip my mind but we and the Volvo yacht race folks - also in town at the time - enjoyed them very much.
I've tried a Coors and it's not all that special, no flaws and not very interesting.
May favourite lager is Pilsner Urquels and my favourite strong ale was Cooper's Sparkling, but now the next down in strength Pale Ale.
Now that you've been 'given the drum', you could drop the ignorance or snide remarks, okay? :-)! Up to you, of course.

even articles to be found on the World Wide Internet stating the same! Speaking of snide comments, it's possible you're part Canadian eh? Sorry, it's winter I can't help myself. I'll start getting better in 2 months less 8 days.Edit, BTW, that quote, "Fosters is Australian for beer" runs here regularly in Fosters' ads.

Sinatra, Bennett, or Franki Valli (all the Italian American singers I can think of)

sent me to thinking about our great Italian American singers.

"Have you a water buffalo?"
... Looks can be deceiving so the burning question is, how did it taste?
We buy gourmet pizza here to take home. We get the 40cm size. However we reheat two slices each at a time on a pizza tray in the oven.
We take an hour to 90 mins to eat a pizza. I'm not sure how we'd go sitting down to a metre of pizza all at once!
If we eat pizza out we like to get the small 20/21 cm size about ten minutes apart and have a good variety of pizza.

Sox
Via Napoli is at Lane Cove and the on in the piccy is Hunters Hill.
They were voted best pizza in Sydney in 2013.
The base is soft and thin.
Toppings fairly sparse - real Italian style.
The table of 9 knocked over the 2 metre one with only 4 pieces left over.
Cheers,
John K
