on a guest cabin. I hire this portable lumber mill and the crew and use one of our cedar trees. It saves about 50% of the cost of buying lumber and transporting it up the mountain. My contractor specifies any custom cuts and bang, there they are.

maybe the 1950s by the look, but it runs just fine.
It is a very cool piece. I would guess late 40's? Never the less, it being in good working order, it is probably worth four times what it cost new.

How long do you have to allow the lumber to dry before you can use it?
and cut sections of 10 feet, 12 feet, 16 feet and 24 feet. We actually cut them about 6 inches longer because the ends tend to crack. Six months later we cut the boards and stack them with thin pieces of wood between so they get a lot of air, they are covered with tin. 2 months later we can build with them.
It is a process that smells so damn good...
