Best thing I've read regarding the MN Wild, Zach Parise, and Ryan Suter deal:
Mike Modano: "Can I come back and play in Minnesota too?" (That really makes me chuckle!)
Damn! For Minnesota natives in general, and Wild fans in particular, this is HUGE!
(And for some strange reason, I can't get this silly-assed grin off my face today....)

....Holmgren was just driving up the price for whoever got them. I'm glad they didn't go to one of our Eastern Conference competitors, and the Devils just got weaker. So, I'm alright with it. Run Wild in MN!
Funny as that may sound, I "get" it! Completely...
I haven't check the Wild's schedule (let alone Nashville or NJ's), but with much to prove (on both sides of the ice), the next few meetups between the teams may prove to be good games!
And who knows...maybe a new rivalry (or two) has been formed!

It happens in Miami too. If the Wild's can find a forward to play with Parise, Nash perhaps....watch out LA Kings...
If a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing well

Right now the Wild site are showing Parise paired with Koivu & Heatley on the first line, with Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Cullen, and Setoguchi on the 2nd line.
I like it!

but now it's on to Plan B, whatever that is. The pundits on the local radio had mixed feelings, each preferring one over the other. The consensus seemed to lean toward Parise for his overall game, but the Flyers need a defenseman.

Considering that Suter made it clear that he didn't want to play for an East coast team, I sure hope the Flyers "Plan A" didn't include him, thereby potentially looking over the other available talent out there....

According to the talk (it was early in the morning on the way to work so I may have been asleep at the time) on the radio, everyone thought they would go for one or the other, but the team was making an offer to get both. I'm sure they were looking at others since I don't know what the chances were of signing either one or both.
But what really makes me happy is the 2-1 Union win over the LA Galaxy last night! I sense momentum starting to shift.

(Oh yeah, theFightin'Fadin' Phils won too.)
Parise belonged in Pittsburgh :-) Imagine what a Parise/Crosby line would have been like.

You really can't blame them for wanting to play in front of their friends and family....
And speaking of Crosby, although this may not be "home" to him, it seems to me that he spent a few years playing here as well (@ Shattuck-St. Mary's, if memory serves). If this deal pans out, I wonder if we can't sign-up Syd sometime as well.....
:)

Syd just signed until something like 2024 for something like 13 bazillion million or some other ridiculous amount.
Yeah, Parise had told the press last week that money was not part of the decision. That meant for sure that he was going to minneanoplace cause the Pens could throw tons of money at him. Our loss is your gain.
