OK, so it took us a long time to get the Stereomour to market. :^)
Back in May of 2010, I asked Mike to look into some upgrade iron for the Stereomour. Mike was going through some rough times medically back then and neither of us followed up. I'll send Mike the details again.

Hi Paul:
Thanks. I received your email this morning and have done several preliminary designs. So now I am entering the mulling over stage ;)
I'll contact you for a brainstorming session!
Cheers,

Wouldn't the TFA 2004 Jr. do the job beautifully? I love the Cobalt-laced ones I use with 2A3's. Or is something less expensive to be the focus of effort?
Cheers, Hank
To fit on the Stereomour chassis, it has to share mounting screws with the matching plate choke; the Jr is a hair bigger (3/8" actually).
Too bad! That Jr. is some wonderful iron. If you both arrive at anything close, you'll really be coming up with a winner. And imagine if you surpassed it!
Cheers, Hank
Hi Hank:
I can confirm for you that the OT for the Stereomour is looking a lot like the 204/2004 in terms of coil geometry and other relevant design parameters. It is not a 204/2004--- the primary impedance is different--- the mounting centers need to be different to work in the existing Stereomour chassis--- so people can upgrade easily.
And I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment that the 204/2004 is a good design paradigm to emulate.
