Return to K&K Audio / Lundahl Transformers
99.178.170.125
Ten years ago today I founded K&K Audio after receiving word from Per Lundahl two or three weeks prior that I had been "appointed" the US distributor of Lundahl audiophile transformers. It's easy to say that I've had a great time doing this, and after the first couple of years was actually in the black business-wise. This has continued since then, even through the trying times of 2008-2009, thanks to all of you out there who entrusted your money to me in return for a superior DIY experience with Lundahl transformers. I remain committed to providing continuing support for their optimal application in the years coming.
The time has gone by in flash and, in the process, I have learned a heck of a lot about designing and building good-sounding audio circuits, as well as about running a small business. I plan on doing this for as many years as it is possible to do so, so I'm looking for forward to the next ten years!
Thanks again,
Kevin Carter

I remember in the Fall of 2002 I was tremendously overloaded in classes and was adamant about getting some prototyping/hobby quality time in to learn tube design.. I was quite the n00b at the time. Sometime in Oct 2002 I believe, I ordered a pr of LL1660/10 from you - I remember at the time I spent $60 ea for these parts (!!!!)
The 1660/10's last MANY iterations of learning... First, in a failed attempt with SV811-10s (before I fully understood what grid-current conditions met), then next as my very first 845 prototype in 1:1 stepup, next - it lived for 2 years in a 845 amp in 1:2 stepup... It now lives in Brooklyn, NY. I gave it away when I built out a PP 6B4G amp... It's running 5842WA I believe and the owner is burning up Soviet 6C4C.
Today, I have your stuff in my Amity clones... LL1660S/PP - and a 1638 choke.

... and thank you, Kevin. It's been a pleasure doing business with K&K Audio. I wish you continued success with many more creative audio designs in the coming years .
I have no doubt the next ten years will flash by, also.
It has always been a pleasure to do business with you.
I know you were not fishing for compliments but why not? We do not get the opportunity often.
Your "partnership" with Dave Davenport is another reason for your importance in the world of DIY (and semi-DIY) audio.
I rarely miss a day without looking at the FORUM.
Congratulations!
