One very swinging dudette. She's been a favorite for years since I heard her recordings on Jim Wilke's weekend jazz show.
Follow Ups:
Sad. She had been in bad shape for quite some time. Circa 1980 I was making an attempt at jazz trumpeting. There was a jam session in the east bay I went to to play a jazz solo for the first time in public and Jessica Williams was playing at it. It was the first and last time I ever played in such a situation as I had to stop my trumpet efforts. Good memory.

I hate RIP threads, but...
I couldn't agree more. What a talent!
God speed and thanks for the smiles.

Big fan. Will miss her.
I was wondering about her last year, as I was repopulating my digital collection and saw some of her albums on my music server from the 2000's....this one hurts !
Marty N.
saw her once or twice.
An extraordinary talent, truly gifted.
RIP.
