Bill was obviously an introvert and a rather private person, but he did some interviews. He's not chatty and doesn't give too much away. There's one interview in Norway with the trio inc. Eddie Gomez which is quite good.I think it's more interesting to actually listen to jazz musicians talking than read analyses by others, really. But a lot of jazz musicians weren't particularly chatty in front of a microphone. They probably were when not being pestered by journalists.
I presume all the material in the retrospective has already appeared on disc - didn't study it too carefully. The trio I listen to is the one with Eddie Gomez and Elliot Zigmund.

Bill Evans was interviewed by Marian McPartland for her radio show Piano Jazz in 1977. It's a fascinating interview that also includes both of them playing.
That was a good one, during which Bill joked that he was "the fastest boogie woogie player in New Jersey."
