Let's see here. Say a 2 volt output from a cd player and a very common load of 47000 ohms. So fellow first graders, 2/47000= about .00004 AMPS. That is less than 1/2 of a milliamp. Plenty of headroom for a wire that is rated to carry .0137 AMPS. 13.7 mA. Gotta love this first grade math stuff. Mommy, Mommy, can I have a cookie now? Maybe some anti psychotic meds for my friends?? Please Mommy

it reminded me that I once owned/used one of the skinny Mapleshade IC's (the ones in the baggie type sheathing).
I was a digital IC and it was the least expensive offering @ the time.
The Mapleshade worked well with my CAL Icon MkII/Bel Canto DAC 1 combo, though the only commercial cables I compared it to were an inexpensive Purple/Mauve DH Labs and a much more expensive Kimber Illuminati (or something like that).
I ended up preferring a DIY cable (based upon instructions/guidance from Richard @ Vantage Audio in the UK) using my 47 Labs OTA cable along with their non metallic RCA connectors.
Aside from the wire gauge there is also sheathing (dialectic?) and connectors to consider.
The Mapleshade IC had heavy/massive RCA connectors, which is kind of an odd choice considering how small the signal wire was.
Anyway, If this info doesn't help you might simply look into getting a good spanking.
I have a pair of those baggie type Mapleshade interconnects and also a pair of Mapleshade speaker cable with bare wire ends. I doubt the speaker cable is either 54 or 56 gauge wire or it would be too fragile to twist around the speaker binding posts, but I could be wrong. I will try to find out. The interconnects definitely appear to be thinner gauge wire.
I tried to teleport both pairs of cables to Master Tweaker last night, but as others have noted, his line was busy.
